Potassium Sorbate

Potassium Sorbate is a salt of sorbic acid which is naturally found in some fruits. The commercially available Potassium Sorbate is synthetically produced but is considered “nature identical” which means it is equivalent to what is found naturally.

It is very effective in fighting fungal growth and some bacteria in cosmetics and personal care products and is widely used in the food industry.

It is generally seen as safe to preserve foods and when used in cosmetics it is practically a non-irritating preservative that cause little to no sensitivities.

It is approved by the Natural Products Association.

Usage rate: Use 0.5% of total formulation
